Today, Presidents and Directors General of BusinessEurope’s member federations gathered in Budapest, invited by MGYOSZ – BusinessHungary, to outline their priorities for the upcoming Hungarian Presidency of the European Union. The gathering, held ahead of Hungary’s term commencing on Monday, emphasized the key areas that European businesses believe the EU should focus on.

Notable attendees included Màrton Nagy, Minister for the National Economy of Hungary, and Enrico Letta, the author of a recent report on the future of the Single Market. The business leaders underscored three main priorities for the next six months:

  • Better regulation in a well-integrated European Single Market
  • Open strategic autonomy to become stronger without turning our back to the world
  • An ambitious industrial strategy for a resilient future

These three fields aim to start delivering the New European Competitiveness Deal that will ensure that the European Union remains the home to successful companies. Read the ”Budapest Declaration” here.
