The Swedish Labour Market Council for EU Affairs has now sent a letter to the President of the European Commisson. In the letter, the Council summarizes its legal analysis of the proposal for a Directive on adequate minimum wages in the European Union.
The Council concludes that with the proposal for a Directive, the EU is taking a clear step towards increased supranationalism in areas that the social partners usually manage by themselves.
The parties behind the Council will now strive to ensure that the proposal for a Directive is not adopted. Attached to the letter was their joint legal analysis of the Commission’s proposal for a directive on adequate minimum wages in the European Union.
